Word to the Wyes 5/26/22

A Prayer for Memorial Day
O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the
benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect for the Seventh Sunday of Easter
O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

This Sunday we welcome Rick Culotta as our preacher and officiant.

May Fair, a Celebration of our 300th Anniversary
from the 300th Anniversary Committee
Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!
Let it be known that Wye Parish is immensely grateful to Rick Culotta, Tom Radcliffe and MaryJo DeMattais for leading the May Fair team to an undoubtedly successful event. They were supported by Karen Culotta, head baker of the top earning Bake Shoppe, selling sweets of the 18th century; Debbie Scott who headed the kitchen crew, Jeff Denton who created our May Pole; and Bibi Schelberg who led the frolicking dance. We are especially grateful to Rev. Mary Garner who made possible the Blessing of the Animals.
Wye Parish also thanks the many volunteers whose gifts of time and talents made the event possible.
(Parishioners holding photos of the day are greatly encouraged to share them with the parish office. Thank you to Rhonda Corder posted this photo of the horse carriage and driver on Facebook.)
