Haven Ministries
Haven Ministries, one of our adopted charities, is a growing coalition of more than 16 churches called to extend the love of Jesus, by offering hope to men, women and children in Queen Anne’s County, caught in the cycle of poverty. One or two persons from Wye Parish may serve on the Board of Directors and we contribute donations and volunteers throughout the year.
Haven Ministries programs include: a Homeless Shelter, Our Daily Thread Thrift Shop, Permanent and Emergency Food Pantries, Hope Warehouse with Job Training, Resource Center, Art for Your Home Program and Street Outreach Program. Haven Ministries is also actively planning a low-cost housing assistance program and is in the planning stages of constructing homes that would enable clients to live on the property long term, under a low-cost landlord-tenant relationship.
With so many growing programs at Haven Ministries there are many ways to contribute that may match your interests: Donations of money, food, clothing, household items, construction items, furniture and art; volunteering for serving the homeless, food pantries, thrift Shop, hope warehouse; setting up and helping at fund raising events; serving on the Board of Directors and much more.
