For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The Collect for Parish Christmas Services

O God, who makes us glad with the yearly remembrance of the birth of thy only Son, Jesus Christ: Grant that as we joyfully receive him for our redeemer, so we may with sure confidence behold him, when he shall come to be our judge; who live and reign with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Annual Christmas Offering
In the normal seasons of Christmas, end of year parish gifts have been a significant source of parish giving.
The Rector and Vestry are most grateful for these annual gifts.

Greetings everyone!
In the last two bulletins of the Word to the Wyes, you read my article about the church’s 300th Christmas and the “mini logo” that was derived from the official 300th Anniversary logo, which our committee finalized earlier this month. Now, I would like to present that logo to you.
We established this logo with immense help from graphic design artist, Phoebe Gilbert, who has also given us the insight on the significance of the elements used in it’s design.
I proudly present to you our official 300th Anniversary logo along with Phoebe’s letter of explanation to the committee.
Merry Christmas and may God’s blessings be upon you and your house.

300th Anniversary Committee

Old Wye Church 300th Anniversary Committee Members ,
To follow is the logo design selected for the Old Wye Church 300th Anniversary Logo! Thank you to everyone who provided input!!
This design has essentially two elements: The Church name, and the Anniversary celebration announcement.
The font used for the Church name is solid, open and simple, in keeping with the essence of the Old Wye Church.
The font used for the 300th Anniversary text is flowing, elegant and celebratory.
These two distinct elements used in tandem describe this year as a joyous event for Old Wye Church. In addition, it was
decided to adopt the logo design that ‘stacked’ the Anniversary text. This provides room / air around the Old Wye Church
text, allowing the church name to be the primary focus.
It is good practice to keep the number of fonts used in one logo to as few as possible. However the use of variations on a font is often seen in a single design.
In this design we have used two fonts: Garamond Bold / Garamond Bold Condensed, and Kunstler Script.
Thank you for contributing to this logo that will be used in so many ways throughout the coming year!!
