Word to the Wyes 8/5/21
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

at Old Wye Church
A Collect for the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost
Grant to us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Birthday blessings to Henry Johnston and Rosemary Soldano. Anniversary blessings to Mike and Wendy Clark.
Warmest regards in Christ,
Reverend Charlie
The Parish Office Has Returned to Normal
We are delighted to report that life is returning to normal at Wye Parish. The phone system is back up. The internet is working again. The computer has been repaired. It was a long and quiet week but we were blessed with skilled and friendly technicians from Atlantic Broadband. We will have bulletins at tomorrow’s service, many thanks to Sharon Latta for coming in on a Saturday morning to fold them and help prepare for the service and to Jay Marchant for spending most of Friday reconnecting all of the equipment up so that bulletins could be printed today.
News from the Buildings and Grounds Committee – Old Wye Parking Lot
A picture is worth a thousand words. The first photo shows the problem – the area that has had a large puddle after heavy rains. In the second photo, the brick border has been raised allowing the entire area along the edge of the cemetery to be raised. The third photo shows the result of grading to create a low area leading from the problem area to the swale along State Route 662. The committee is especially grateful to Lane Cole who had previously worked with our contractor, and who kindly monitored and advised throughout the project. We are hopeful the new elevations will alleviate the standing water problem.

This online giving feature also may be accessed any time from the Wye Parish website. Thank you to all who have mailed their weekly or monthly offerings and to those who are already using our online donation service.
