Psalm Studies

This is a Monday morning group that is studying the Book of Psalms.  There is much personal support and comfort to be gained for your faith journey by reading through the psalms in order.  No other book in the bible is as personal to us and our individual situations as this.  Reading the psalms, one by one, helps us discover ourselves, know that we are not alone in our pain and our joy, and teaches us how we can respond to God when God speaks to us. The group is using Prayers of the Heart by Eugene Peterson as a guide. Wye Parish Spiritual Support Ministry

Wye Parish Spiritual Support Ministry

Where would you go if you needed spiritual support and comfort for a temporary or an ongoing life situation? Would you value a time for solace and prayer in an atmosphere of trust and confidentiality? You may be experiencing an illness; bereavement over the loss of a family member, friend, or a pet; an unresolved anger or forgiveness issue, just to name a few. Perhaps you’re not presently in need yourself but are interested in learning ways to become a more effective companion for someone you love in need of spiritual health, hope and healing.
Wye Parish is now offering such a spiritual support ministry facilitated by spiritual directors from The Retreat House in Chestertown.

Kerygma

Kerygma – How to read the Bible with understanding. Kerygma’s guiding perspective is reading the Bible as a whole. The practice of Kerygma is to read in communion that is in the company of persons who are also seeking understanding. Kerygma, a word meaning proclamation, is both a yearly course (Discovering the Bible) and a variety of quarterly courses, such as the Psalms, the Lord’s Prayer, the Parables of Jesus and Book of Revelation. Wow!

Lenten Study

A Lenten study offers the opportunity for group study and reflection during the season of Lent. A meditational guide provides a foundation for seeking a deeper experience of Lent, an experience that will help prepare each participant for the true meaning of Easter.
